I was born and raised on the North Shore of Boston in a small seaside town much like Kennebunk, Maine, where I now live. After I taught in elementary schools for ten years, I retired and decided that I would pursue my love of photography.

I cannot recall at what age I got a Brownie Camera, but ever since then I have loved taking photos of events and people. I believe that using a digital camera assists in focusing on the art of photography. I began photography as an art with a Fuji Finepix F700 point and shoot digital camera, but soon upgraded to a Sony Alpha A100 SLR digital camera because of its flexibility in changeable lenses and filters. I mainly use photo-editing programs to crop and resize my images, but have also experimented with enhancing the colors and filters.

I have had no formal training in art or photography; however, I am an active member of the Maine Women in the Arts and I have shown in several local public venues recently. I read the Digital Photography School Newsletter daily, where members can relate their successful methods. I've tried some of them out and have found the newsletter very helpful, as is the networking I enjoy in the local art group.

My husband and I have a dual residence in the Gulf Coast of Florida, where I shoot hundreds of pictures of beach scenes, birds, reptiles, and butterflies. I find the light colors of the ocean and beach are dramatically different than those of Maine. I love to shoot in both places because of these differences, although they are similar in natural beauty.

All of my photos are available as 8x10 or 8x12 glossy photographs and can be ordered by emailing me. You can see more of my photos at my Flickr page.
