This is the view from my window during a snowfall. I love the pines because even in the dead of winter there is some form of greenery out side. When the snow is falling, the world seems so silent. . . |

This shot is from my front door. I missed the sun, which came out for a minute, but there was another snowstorm on the way and the light was receding. |

I combined two shots for this image. There are two houses across the street, both overwhelmed by the snowy trees. It's amazing how much these huge trees will bend under the weight of the snow. A bit of wind and the snow will drop right off. I like the way the trees bend in as if they're talking together. One forgets how huge they are in comparison to the houses.
My driveway is at the far left, covered in snow, meeting the plowed road. |

There is a decorative tree just outside the front door, and the limbs collect the snow. I ran out the day before to fill the bird feeder, and the cardinals were glad of it. They were taken through the window - my way of stalking the wild things from the comfort of my own home. . . |

A shot up the road (towards civilization) . The trees were all sorts of colors, blue green, or yellowish brown, and the bushes in the foreground were red. Who says that winter is all white?
The moon was out a few evenings ago and I took a night shot. The dark branches appear to be reaching up to touch the moon. |

I like this shot because it shows the different shapes and masses of the branches. The pines' branches look like great feathery limbs.
I hope these photos don't make you feel too cold. The temperatures ranged from about 20 degrees F to 34 F, and when you go out it feels as though you're drinking an icy liquid at times. A bit of snow shovelling and you warm right up! Come on over. . .
